Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball entered the league as perhaps one of the most highly-touted prospect in recent years. With such high expectations, it is fair to say Ball has underwhelmed through the first couple of weeks of the 2017-18 NBA season.

One of the biggest concerns regarding Lonzo Ball going back to high school has been his unique shooting form. However, according to TNT analyst David Aldridge, the Lakers are more concerned with his footwork rather than his shooting form:

Much is made of Ball’s release on his jumper, but really, the Lakers are more concerned about his footwork than his shooting form. “It’s like he’s shooting a different shot every time,” one Angeleno says. (Dennis Scott, our Turner Sports colleague who knows a thing or two about jumpers, says that as long as Ball’s hands get square at the release point, where Ball starts his shooting motion doesn’t matter that much.)

It is still too soon to determine whether or not Lonzo Ball should consider switching things up. However, he has struggled with the three-ball early hitting just 11 out of his 47 attempts from deep so far this year.

Given the nature of his current position, shooting struggles early on were expected to be part of the learning curve. As of right now, Lakers fans would just like to see the rookie be more aggressive when it comes to scoring.
