With a 121-114 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night, the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a third straight defeat and sixth loss in their last seven games. It’s also their second straight defeat since All-Star LeBron James returned to the lineup after missing 20 games due to an ankle injury.
The Lakers got their stars back (for now, because James hurt his ankle again and could miss more time), but the team is still struggling after James and All-Star big man Anthony Davis both missed significant time. They have struggled with injuries to several key players throughout the season after winning the franchise’s first title in a decade, putting them in danger of playing in the play-in tournament.
But according to StatMuse, injuries to James, Davis, or the team’s other key players may not be the only reason for their recent struggles:

For those who may have forgotten, Vivian is the alleged host of a Lakers podcast named “The Laker Point Podcast” who allegedly went missing a couple of weeks ago, which led to allegations of catfishing. The issue was a topic of discussion on social media among Laker fans, and the identity of Vivian Flores remains unknown. Could her “disappearance” be the reason for the team’s struggles?
Of course, it is the players who play on the court and win the games for the Lakers. They only have themselves to blame for their recent struggles, which has caused them to fall into a tie with the Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers for the fifth to the seventh spot in the Western Conference standings.
But even so, their struggles and Flores' “disappearance” happened at around the same time, and the only way they can address it is by finding their championship form and winning more games as the playoffs draw closer.
