Last season during the NBA bubble, it was announced the Milwaukee Bucks superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo had won the MVP for that season. He won by a substantial amount over Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. However, James had the last laugh after winning the NBA championship.

Lakers' guard, Alex Caruso recalls the moment he heard that news while in the bubble, per Talksbasket.net. It might've been an awkward moment for anyone around James at that time, but apparently it didn't seem to bother James all that much, according to Caruso.

“I think we were all together when we found out,” the 27-year-old NBA champion recalled. “I don't think there was any big rally cry around it as a team. LeBron might have had that partially within himself. But he doesn't need any extra motivation chasing after a championship.”

Indeed that is probably true. LeBron James is 36 years old and playing in his 18th season in the league. Not winning an MVP award is probably the least of James' concerns, as his mind is on the Championship every year.

The NBA playoffs are quickly approaching and the Los Angles Lakers are in a good position to secure a spot in the postseason. They're currently ranked second in the Western Conference and are only 1.5 games behind the Utah Jazz for first place. With plenty of time between now and the postseason, it likely doesn't even matter what seed Los Angeles has, as Anthony Davis will be back by then.

LeBron James is in the running for an MVP award this season. However, it's likely not his top priority. If he wins, it'll be a nice cherry on top of a stellar season. But at the end of the day, the Lakers won't be satisfied without a championship victory.
