With the goal of surrounding superstar LeBron James with shooters, the Los Angeles Lakers have signed 3-point specialist Troy Daniels to a one-year deal. The six-year veteran shot 38 percent from beyond the arc last season, and he's expected to play an important part in the Purple and Gold's offense next season.

Daniels knows this, and he's excited about the fact that he'll have the chance to share the court with James. In an interview with HoopsHype's Alex Kennedy, the 28-year-old guard said that playing with the four-time MVP is a dream come true.

“I’m really looking forward to it. For a shooter like myself, you could call it a dream come true. He’s a tremendous passer – an elite passer – and he knows the game so well. He understands that sometimes, a shooter just needs to touch the ball. We don’t even need to shoot it; sometimes, you just want to touch the ball and give it right back and let the game come to you. He totally understands this game and I’m really looking forward to playing with him. Any shooter would look forward to playing with LeBron James! Any shooter.”

For the first time in his career, Daniels will have a legitimate shot of winning a championship. The Lakers have also acquired Anthony Davis, which means that he, along with the other players the Lakers have acquired via free agency, will see a lot of open shots next season. All they need to do is make most of them.
