Over the last month or so, there has been a lot of speculation about what the Los Angeles Lakers might do before and after the NBA trade deadline. The team decided to stand pat at the deadline, but that hasn't stopped rumors of them bringing in a free agent or player on the buyout market.

If the Lakers were to bring in another player, they'd have to make a move to open a roster spot. This also led to speculation as to which player would be the one waived by the team with Troy Daniels being among the likely candidates. Daniels recently spoke with Brandon ‘Scoop B' Robinson of Heavy.com about whether the rumors have bothered him and how he's dealt with the constant speculation.

“For sure. No question. I mean people might say that he’s not —– and yeah but everybody says it’s a business, and when they say it’s a business it really IS a business. I’ve been traded five times in my career in the past seven years so I’m scarred for life. So whatever happens. I just think whatever happens is going to happen and when it does happen, just stay strong stay true to yourself and continue to work if it happens. Obviously we’ve been up and we’ve been down. That’s what teams do. You go up, you go down. You go up, you go down. But media and everybody speculating we need help with this, we need that… we have the perfect team to win a championship. Whatever the case may be. I think we can match up with the Clippers good, I think we can beat Milwaukee in seven, I honestly do if everybody’s playing to their type of basketball. We have a couple of the best players in the world.”

The L.A. Clippers have made two moves to improve their roster with the additions of Marcus Morris and Reggie Jackson. The Lakers, however, haven't done anything and the pressure may continue to mount if they don't make a move despite the team currently sitting atop the Western Conference standings.

The obvious choice for the Lakers was signing free-agent guard Darren Collison. He checked all the boxes in terms of what the team was looking for in order to improve their roster. Although it appeared the team was close to signing him after he was seen at a game with Jeanie Buss and Kurt Rambis, he decided to remain retired leaving Los Angeles to look elsewhere.

Now the Lakers could go after Markieff Morris who recently agreed to a buyout with the Detroit Pistons. Los Angeles is rumored to be a frontrunner for Morris' services along with the defending NBA champion Toronto Raptors.
