The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Troy Daniels last month because of his 3-point shooting. The six-year vet shot 38 percent from beyond the arc last season and will be a great complimentary piece to LeBron James and Anthony Davis. However, for someone who's been known to knock down long-range bombs, Daniels believes that there are some skills of his that are usually overlooked.

In an interview with HoopsHype's Alex Kennedy, Daniels said that he believes that he's a great ball-handler and that he thinks his skills on that department can be in the same level as his 3-point shooting.

“I really think my ball-handling is underrated because I shoot the ball so well. Guys don’t expect you to be able to shoot the ball and dribble at an elite level at the same time, but that’s something I’ve been working on. I’ve also been working on my defense. … I’ll probably be heading out to L.A. in the next few weeks and working out there leading up to training camp.”

The Lakers are loaded at the guard position, with Rajon Rondo, Alex Caruso, Quinn Cook, and Avery Bradley. Daniels could be the team's third-string floor general, and it's possible that he might not see a lot of minutes on the floor. But if he can continue to improve his game just like what he's doing, it's possible for him to log consistent minutes.

As a spot-up shooter, there is no doubt that Daniels will fit the Lakers' system just fine. But whether he'll be the right amount of opportunity to do that, and other things, remains to be seen.
