Aside from the Creation of Man, the most-awaited event in human history was Russell Westbrook's debut for the Los Angeles Lakers.

It finally happened on Tuesday evening at Staples Center as the Lakers hosted the Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately, Westbrook didn't get the win in his very first outing for the Purple & Gold as the Warriors took the 121-114 win.

Westbrook had a forgettable debut in front of Lakers fans, finishing with paltry numbers of eight points on 4-of-13 shooting, five rebounds, and four assists. He also committed four turnovers, as he looked lost in the offense numerous times.

As expected, the former MVP was quickly roasted on Twitter. Let the “Westbrick” slanders commence!

Some posts were absolutely brutal but totally hilarious at the same time.

After his awful showing, it's not hard to compare Westbrook to a former Lakers player who was part of the trade package for Mr. Triple-Double.

One Twitter user, meanwhile, couldn't help but express his frustration over the fact that the Lakers could've had Sacramento Kings shooter Buddy Hield, but the Purple & Gold decided to acquire a notorious chucker like Westbrook.

Of course, the no. 1 not fan of LeBron James, TV analyst Skip Bayless rubbed it in as well. He will sleep well tonight knowing LBJ lost their opening game. He might even send Westbrook a care package for contributing to the Lakers' defeat.

But Russell Westbrook has a quick memory. He will easily forget a bad game and move on to the next. The Lakers will host the Phoenix Suns on Friday.
