Danny Green has turned into public enemy number one among Los Angeles Lakers fans right now. The 33-year-old guard has taken a lot of heat in the 2020 NBA playoffs so far for his putrid marksmanship from downtown.

The 3-and-D player was once again the talk of the town on Friday, shortly after the Lakers failed to close out the Finals series against the Miami Heat in Game 5.

Green was once again treated as the scapegoat after he missed a potentially game-winning 3-pointer that would have given the Lakers their 17th NBA championship. Miami came away with a 111-108 win and cut LA's deficit to 3-2.

Twitter was soon filled with heated fans calling for Green's head. Others, meanwhile, couldn't help but turn Danny's misfortunes into hilarious memes.

Here are some of the most hilarious ones.

The Lakers were down by just one in the dying seconds when the Heat defense clamped on superstar LeBron James. The King drove to the cup hard but elected to pass to a wide-open Green on the top of the key.

Green bricked the shot pretty bad, but the Lakers were still able to recover possession. Marcus Morris, however, committed a costly turnover as he tried to give Anthony Davis the rock.

Danny Green finished the game with eight points on 3-of-8 shooting from the field and 2-for-5 from deep. Heading into Friday's close-out match, Green was notching 8.6 points per game and shooting 36.5% from deep.

Those numbers aren't exactly bad for a role player, but Laker fans are expecting more out of Green since he is set to make $15 million from the team this year.

His defense has allowed him to stay on the floor in crunch time, but his rather inconsistent shooting is certainly hurting LA's chances. One thing's for sure, Green has a lot of making up to do in Game 6 on Sunday.
