The Los Angeles Lakers are struggling to find their way after 10 games, but they just made a move to solve one of their most pressing problems. After rumors over the weekend suggested Tyson Chandler would be joining the Lakers after securing a buyout from the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles officially signed the veteran big man on Tuesday.

Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka commented on the signing:

The purple and gold desperately needed some help in the frontcourt, and Chandler could be the exact calming presence they need to help solidify the second unit. Luke Walton has experimented with different guys at center like LeBron James and Kyle Kuzma, but they were clearly lacking another center to back up JaVale McGee — who just so happens to be having a career year.

Tyson Chandler is in the twilight of his career, but he's a definite upgrade for the Lakers right now. Chandler is a proven veteran with a defensive mindset who could help mitigate some of the Lakers' defensive woes. Simply adding a 36-year-old center won't fix all the problems facing Walton's squad, but it's a step in the right direction.

While many Lakers fans are in full panic mode after the slow start, it's important to take a step back and hit the pause button. In addition to James, the Lakers brought in a few new faces and we all knew that the chemistry wouldn't be perfect from Day 1.

James is still arguably the best player in the world, and he deserves the benefit of the doubt.
