To honor Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant at his Hall of Fame induction, his widow, Vanessa Bryant, and NBA legend Michael Jordan will take part in the ceremony. We mostly already knew this, but the roles of each are clarified in a recent report.

According to some guy from Stadium, Vanessa Bryant will be speaking on behalf of her late husband while Michael Jordan will be joining her on stage. Fully expect whatever is said to leave not just Lakers fans, but everyone in tears.

Presenters normally join inductees on stage, but this is obviously a bit of a different situation.

When the NBA world learned that Kobe Bryant was headed to the Naismith Hall of Fame, while there was some speculation about who else might be involved, it always just felt right that his wife was leading the charge. After that, previous names rumored to be involved ranged from Phil Jackson to former teammates.

There's no reason to say if this is the “right or wrong” move, especially since it should be whatever Vanessa Bryant prefers. It is nice, though, that Michael Jordan is so closely involved, as Kobe Bryant idolized the former Chicago Bulls talent to the point he modeled much of his game after the Charlotte Hornets owner.

Nevertheless, get your tissues ready. Heard it's going to be dusty.
