For pretty much the entire 2021-22 NBA season, there has been rampant trade speculation regarding the Los Angeles Lakers. Every single player not named LeBron James, Anthony Davis, or Austin Reaves (seriously) has been bandied about at one point or another as possible assets for the Lakers to use to improve their team. No player has received more trade speculation than guard Russell Westbrook, though.

Brought over in a trade with the Washington Wizards in the 2021 offseason for Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and draft picks, Westbrook has failed to live up to what it cost the Lakers to get him. Because the Westbrook trade rumors have been so rampant, some players around the league have started to get asked about their feelings on Westbrook possibly being dealt. This would be the fourth time that Westbrook has been traded in his NBA career if it does end up happening, and Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green took to his podcast on Wednesday to let the world know that he thinks the Lakers should look to keep him:

Most fans at the time of the trade were mortified by the idea of adding yet another bad shooter to a team that had plenty of them. Everyone wanted Buddy Hield from the Sacramento Kings, instead, and the ones that felt that way were probably right. As Hield has yet another season as a top 3-point shooter in the NBA, Westbrook has failed to fit in on offense and defense. Whether Green may agree with it or not, if the Lakers can get anything for Westbrook, they should probably jump at the opportunity.
