Los Angeles Lakers rookie Brandon Ingram has been compared to Kevin Durant for a long time.
The slender build and style of play has made the comparison work for most people. No one expects Ingram to be the next KD right away, but he definitely resembles the former MVP.
Ingram and the Lakers begin the season Oct. 26 and get their first shot at the Warriors 11 days before that in the preseason. On Nov. 4, the Lakers host the Warriors in their first regular season meeting.
Ingram is already looking forward to that matchup.
“I like Kevin Durant,” said Ingram. “I’ve always idolized his game. Just the way he moves, his body size, body type. The way he plays the game, the way he carries himself. I think I’m going to be very excited when I match-up with him.”
Durant has already given Ingram the ultimate compliment, saying that he believes this year's No. 2 overall pick is already further along as a player than KD was at that age. Whether that's true or not, remains to be seen.
The Lakers have a lot of promise surrounding their team this season between Ingram and their other young players. A lot of attention will be on the team, especially when they play the Warriors. The Ingram-Durant matchup will be great to watch.
