Agents and general managers around the league reportedly view Linda Rambis as a “shadow owner” of the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Ramona Shelburne and Amin Elhassan of ESPN (h/t Dan Feldman of NBC Sports).

Linda is the wife of Kurt Rambis, who is the Lakers' Senior Basketball Advisor. Linda is very close with Lakers owner Jeanie Buss.

“Some agents and GMs around the league have dubbed (Linda) her the shadow owner of the Lakers, that everything goes through Linda Rambis, and if you want to convince Jeanie of something, you’ve got to get Linda first,” Elhassan said on ESPN's The Jump.

Added Shelburne:

“The fact that people talk about that now is funny to me, because it’s been that way, really, for 40 years. They have been best friends. And personality-wise, if you know them, it sort of makes sense. Jeanie can be shy. Linda is more of a talker. She’s more of a doer. The difference is, in the past, her role has been more as a consigliere or an events person whereas, right now, there’s a lot more dealing with agents.”

The Lakers are currently looking for a new head coach. LA and Luke Walton parted ways after the season ended.

Magic Johnson stepped down from his president role before the season ended as well. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka is reportedly leading the coaching search.
