Retired NBA combo guard Damon Jones just recently dropped a bombshell pertaining to the possibility of Toronto Raptors superstar and soon-to-be unrestricted free agent Kawhi Leonard signing with the Los Angeles Lakers this summer.

Appearing as a guest on ESPN's “Get Up,” Jones claimed that after speaking to a reliable source, he learned that the recently-crowned Finals MVP is seriously looking at the possibility of teaming up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis in Hollywood.

While this is not the first time we have heard of Kawhi's potential move to L.A., Jones' statement here is one of the first claims of this nature following the Lakers' recent coup of Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans. The general consensus is that Leonard has been more inclined to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, but perhaps the recent landscape-changing trade involving Davis may have forced Kawhi to think twice about his decision.

With the acquisition of Davis, the Lakers have skyrocketed to becoming the odds-on favorites to win it all next season. However, if they are indeed able to somehow acquire the services of Kawhi, then surely, L.A. would be the ultimate frontrunners to win the championship in the coming season.

Leonard will not come cheap for the Lakers, though, with the 27-year-old looking to secure a max deal. Nonetheless, L.A. have enough cap room to make a move, so on paper, this prospect is definitely feasible. This has been one heck of an offseason so far, and it looks like we're just getting started.
