After acquiring Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans a couple of days ago, the Los Angeles Lakers now shift their focus on free agency. At this point, they do not have enough cap space to sign a top-tier player to a max contract, so they are carefully looking at all their options.

According to ESPN's Zach Lowe, although the Lakers are sticking with their original plan to go after the best players available in the market this July, they are also taking into consideration the possibility of splitting whatever money they have on multiple role players.

The Lakers right now are operating on both fronts. They still hope to chase max players such as Kemba Walker, Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard, sources say. They also have begun discussing players expected to fetch somewhere in that $10 million-plus range, sources say.

The Lakers can go after several notable players if they are willing to pay $10 million-plus a year. JJ Redick, Danny Green and Terrence Ross are potential targets for the Purple and Gold should they strike out on Kyrie Irving, Jimmy Butler, Kemba Walker and Kawhi Leonard.

The Lakers are in a very good position to win next season. They already have AD joining forces with LeBron James. Another marquee free agent or several proven role players added on this team, and they will be good to go for the season.
