It's that time of the year again for Laker Nation, when all hopes and dreams of landing another superstar are alive and well. The latest buzz surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers is that they're in the market for a veteran point guard.

From Kyle Lowry, Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, and even Russell Westbrook, the Lakers have it bad for a floor general who knows how to get buckets without being served up on a silver platter by LeBron James. But the reality of the situation is much less glamorous than simply photoshopping some Purple & Gold on your favorite All-Star guard.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski poured some cold water over the Lakers' hopes of landing any of their big-name targets.

“They cannot replace [Dennis Schröder] if he leaves…Almost every team I've talked to in the league has been offered some combination of Kuz and KCP … and that's not going to get them back a point guard of Dennis's stature. I still think in the end, there's a deal to be made for him to stay with the Lakers.”

For as much as Dennis Schroder struggled last season, especially during the Lakers' short-lived playoff run, Woj does speak the truth in that he may be worth a second chance. And if the NBA insider is to be believed, LA might not have much choice in the matter, anyways.
