According to sources, LeBron James is set to attend his new team's Summer League Quarterfinals matchup on Sunday. The Los Angeles Lakers are slated to face off against the Detroit Pistons, and James will reportedly be a spectator on the sidelines.

After officially signing with the Lakers last week on a four-year deal worth $153 million, James is surely itching to suit up for his new team. Although he will not be making his purple and gold debut on Sunday, he will at least be in attendance.

New York-based NBA insider Rob Perez broke the news on Twitter.

The Lakers have been on a roll in Las Vegas, winning all four of their games in the summer tournament. Josh Hart has been the main man for L.A. averaging 22.5 points on 47 percent shooting, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals in 27.5 minutes per night. The second-year guard is out to prove his worth to the team, after a myriad of off-season acquisitions.

Rookies Svi Mykhailiuk and Moritz Wagner have also been impressive for the Lakers. Mykhailiuk has been the team's second-best scorer behind Hart, averaging 14 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per ballgame. For his part, Wagner is averaging close to a double-double with 1o.3 points and 8.0 rebounds, while also chipping 2.7 steals in the three contests he has played in.

Not only will the Lakers be boosted by the presence of James, but it will also be an opportunity for LeBron to learn a little bit more about his new teammates. Despite the fact that most players on the Summer League lineup will not be part of the club's final roster, James should still be able to get a good feel of the Lakers' system.
