In search of as many one-year deals as they can find in the market, the Los Angeles Lakers have shown interest in bruising combo guard Rodney Stuckey, according to Mark Medina of the Orange County Register.

Stuckey has shown every possible flexibility, willing to play at either guard spot and even mentor the team's young players — a role the team has incessantly asked free agents to fill during meetings.

The 31-year-old is also aware of Los Angeles' persistence in making only one-year contracts, making money the only obstacle between the two parties reaching an agreement.

Stuckey averaged 7.2 points per game last season for the Indiana Pacers, but shot only 37.3 percent from the field and 31.7 percent from deep before being waived in March after suffering a strained left patellar tendon. Having recovered from his injury, the Eastern Washington alum believes his shooting struggles are past him now that he is back to full health.

Stuckey has also developed a good relationship and chemistry with former teammate Paul George, player who has been in the Lakers' crosshairs for several months — a helpful bit when it comes to the team's chances to pry him away from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Lakers have met with free agent Rajon Rondo and previously missed in prior meetings with George Hill and Dion Waiters — both of which signed multi-year deals elsewhere.
