The Los Angeles Lakers might be very shorthanded tonight, but that just means there are more opportunities for guys who don't usually see a lot of minutes to really step up to make plays. That is exactly what happened during the second quarter of Friday night's game between the Lakers and the Indiana Pacers at Staples Center when guard Alex Caruso really brought the crowd to their feet with a huge dunk.

With the Lakers already up 30-27 over the Pacers with 6:15 left in the second quarter, guard Jordan Clarkson attacked the basket but instead passed to Caruso down in the paint. Cutting to his right, Caruso took Clarkson's pass and really climbed the ladder to throw down a massive one-handed tomahawk dunk. The Lakers bench, who looked like they could hardly believe what just went down, had quite a priceless reaction to Caruso throwing down the hammer.

A video of the play, which was posted on the NBA's official Twitter account, can be seen below in all of its glory.

The Lakers are quite shorthanded tonight, as they are without small forward Brandon Ingram (sprained left ankle), rookie point guard Lonzo Ball (sore left knee), and shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (strained right Achilles), who were all ruled as out by head coach Luke Walton before the game.

When Ball is out of the lineup, the Lakers were 0-8 on the season before Friday night's game against the Pacers. He's that important to Los Angeles' cause. However, his absence opens up plenty of opportunities for his teammates to prove their worth.
