Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers missed his team’s Wednesday night game against the Golden State Warriors, which is certainly not the marquee matchup it used to be without Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant.

As such, Davis sat out the game for rest and due to ribs and shoulder issues. In his stead, his teammate Kentavious Caldwell-Pope produced a hilarious highlight (or lowlight) by somehow “wedgie”-ing a point-blank layup against Golden State:

Davis is having yet another tremendous season, his first with L.A., by putting up 26.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.9 blocks per game. Also, for the first time in his career, he is not relied upon as the only good player on his team, as various other talented players surround him – including LeBron James.

While KCP would surely like to get back that layup attempt back, he is an important rotation player this season for the “championship-or-bust” Lakers with 6 years of solid play behind him.
