Looks like the hatchet has certainly been buried between former Los Angeles Lakers teammates Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard.

The retired Bryant made a rare Staples Center appearance on Sunday night, as the Lakers took on the Atlanta Hawks. Before the game, Howard was the first player Bryant ran into.

Howard and Bryant shared a touching moment, as the two shook hands and greeted one another.

The pair wasn’t always chummy with one another, especially after Howard’s disastrous one-year tenure with the Lakers in the 2012-13 season.

Howard struggled with back issues, while Bryant tore his Achilles tendon that year. The pair even figured in a confrontation during a game a year later, when Bryant famously called Howard soft when he was playing for the Houston Rockets.

But it seems the two has already let bygones be bygones now that Howard is enjoying a career resurgence of some sort in his second tenure in Hollywood.

The eight-time All-Star has been anchoring the team’s defense off the bench and has been a big factor for the team’s 10-2 start.

Bryant, meanwhile, also shared a moment with LeBron James, as the two superstars shook hands in the first quarter.
