The Los Angeles Lakers won their 17th NBA championship on Sunday night, tying the Boston Celtics for most all-time in NBA history. LeBron James won his fourth title and also nabbed his fourth Finals MVP trophy, putting him behind only Michael Jordan’s six for most Finals MVP in history.

Earlier on Monday, the triumphant Lakers arrived back at LAX airport to a throng of adoring fans. With that, some of the most notable players on the team, including James and his running mate Anthony Davis, couldn't help but react to the welcome despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

For the Lakers, winning the championship this 2020 means a lot, especially after the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant earlier this year in a helicopter crash.

The team had always been open about dedicating the season to Bryant, and they did not fail to live up to their promise of bringing home the Larry O'Brien trophy in honor of the Black Mamba.

While a championship parade is out of the question due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Lakers were surely happy to be back in their hometown.
