It’s no secret Kobe Bryant knows basketball. It’s also no secret that with the game on the line, it usually helps if you make your free throws. If LeBron would have just made one free throw in Monday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs, the game may have ended very differently.

Former ESPN employee and podcast extraordinaire Jade Hoye provides here a hilarious parody of Monday night's mishap against San Antonio by using a previous analysis from Kobe Bryant's “Detail.” The dialogue fits all too well:

If LeBron would have made both free throws, the Spurs would have needed to drain a 3-point shot to tie the game. The Lakers could have fouled in that scenario to avoid a game-tying triple, or they could have played it out. Even if LeBron would have made just one free throw, the Spurs would have needed at least a 2-pointer to tie or a 3-pointer to take the lead. But LeBron missed both, so a simple 2-pointer from Patty Mills wound up being the game-winner.

The Lakers are off to an unfortunate 0-3 start to the season, and there is still much to be desired from the current talent-filled roster, especially on the defensive end. Their last two games have been well within their grasp, so look for the Lakers to bounce back against the lowly Suns on Wednesday. If they don't, maybe they'll need to bring Kobe Bryant out of retirement to help. Maybe he can actually make some free throws to salt the game away.
