Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has finally been released from the Seal Beach Detention Center after spending 25 days in the facility. What that means is that Caldwell-Pope is now allowed legally to travel with the Lakers even during road games, which he was not able to do the past four times the team played away from California.

What Caldwell-Pope might have forgotten upon full release from the facility is that the rules of basketball remain the same. He is allowed to travel with the Lakers – not travel on the basketball court, which he did in a hilarious manner during the third quarter of Sunday’s blowout 132-113 win at Staples Center over the Atlanta Hawks.

Upon multiple tries of running a pick-and-roll play with teammate Julius Randle, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope appeared to have found the right timing to get off a shot. However, he wasted the opportunity by changing his mind mid-air, causing the traveling infraction.

Was he not taught by any of his past coaches before coming into the NBA that you should not jump with the ball, unsure what to do with it? After landing in a detention center, Caldwell-Pope is almost certainly going straight into Shaqtin’ A Fool's lowlight reel soon.

That’s the only turnover Caldwell-Pope had committed in that game though. He finished the day with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field, two steals, and a rebound. The 24-year-old former Georgia Bulldog is averaging 13.3 points, 2.2 assists, and 5.0 boards per game

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and the Lakers will next face the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.
