Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James did not have his most efficient game on Sunday afternoon against the Los Angeles Clippers, but he made some of the biggest plays when they mattered most.

The Lakers defeated their crosstown rival 112-103, with James scoring 28 points to go along with nine assists, seven rebounds and a pair of blocks.

James put the nail in the coffin in the final minute, driving past Clippers swingman Marcus Morris for an and-one to seal the deal:

LeBron's teammates showed appreciation for his greatness when he checked out of the game, with Kyle Kuzma appropriately presenting ā€œKing Jamesā€ with his crown.

James, Anthony Davis and the rest of the Lakers were certainly royalty in L.A., at least on this day.

Fittingly enough, the gesture comes just days after the Lakers' win over the Milwaukee Bucks. This is relevant because Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo appeared to crown himself during the first meeting between the two teams:

The Bucks still have the best record in the NBA, but the Lakers are the hottest team in the league. Los Angeles have won 11 of their last 12, and LeBron James is playing some of the best basketball of his career.
