Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James recorded his 9,000th career assist against the Dallas Mavericks. Moreover, it wasn't just a simple dime, but rather a highlight pass to fellow All-Star Anthony Davis.

LeBron currently leads the NBA in assists with 10.8 per game. The Lakers superstar is widely considered as one of the NBA's best passers of all-time, but he hasn't finished a season where he was the assist leader.

Now, however, LBJ has a great opportunity to accomplish that this 2019-20 campaign.

Most of Bron's passes are alley-oops to either AD, JaVale McGee, and Dwight Howard. Those three make things easier for the four-time MVP, as he no longer needs to penetrate to the basket as often as he used to. He knows that with the right pass, one of the Lakers' frontcourt players will easily score on a high-percentage shot.

Expect LeBron James to have more assists once the Lakers' perimeter shooters start hitting 3-pointers on a consistent basis.
