After one season in college, top NBA prospect Trae Young has announced his decision to enter the 2018 NBA Draft. With his amateur career seemingly over, Young now shifts his focus to further impressing NBA front offices. Young, however, is probably not going to help boost his own stock if he ever adopted the shooting mechanics of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball.

In a video posted on Twitter by Overtime, Young could be seen impersonating the highly scrutinized and much-maligned shooting motion of Lonzo Ball.

Trae Young was obviously just messing around here. There’s no reason for him to make drastic adjustments on his own shooting form. For one, he was able to become one of the deadliest shooters in college during his stint in Norman. In 32 games for the Sooners, Young managed to lead the nation in scoring with 27.4 points per game. Although he shot just 42.3 percent from the field, it was partly because of his high usage.

As for Ball, the first-year NBA guard continues to struggle with his shot in the NBA, shooting just 35.7 percent from the field and 31.7 percent from deep.

Like Lonzo Ball, Young is also a terrific playmaker, as he also led the nation in assists with 8.7 dimes per contest in college.

Despite the late-season struggles of Young and the Sooners and an early exit in the NCAA Tournament no thanks to a loss to the Rhode Island in the first round, Young is expected to get his name called early in the upcoming NBA Draft.
