Last year’s NFL MVP has not had the same start to the season in 2020. Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens offense has been much slower moving the football.

The terrible weather was a talking point in their loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday night, but there’s more to the story. Matt Williamson and Brian Peacock, host of the daily Peacock and Williamson podcast on the Locked On Podcast Network, discussed this game and how the Ravens offense is not what it was last year.

Williamson: A lot of folks asked, “Didn’t you see that weather?” but don’t you think that weather hurt the Ravens less than most? It was not like it was a slow track all of a sudden. You were not playing in the mud and that slowed down. It still favored their style of game, as well as the Patriots. I’ll admit that too as they are very much a run-first team, maybe more than anyone in the league and Damien Harris is a really good player and Burkhead is a big contributor and I thought Cam played well as obviously Belichick can’t be taken lightly but Lamar Jackson is not the effective playmaker he was a year ago. I don’t understand why Dobbins doesn’t get 75 percent of the carries.

The receivers are not helping Lamar Jackson at all. They just do not get open with traditional routes and create separation. The offensive line has become a liability even though it was a strength last year and obviously, their run defense has been a problem.
