LaMarcus Aldridge had a career year last season as the centerpiece of the San Antonio Spurs, but he wants to reintroduce himself to shooting from behind the arc in 2018. Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker dealt with injuries while the aging core of the Spurs organization struggled to keep up with a young league last season. Aldridge put the team on his back, but he feels like shooting from deep will help produce a better end result this time around.

“I put in a lot of time, feeling more comfortable with it,” Aldridge said to Jeff McDonald of San Antonio Express-News. “I probably feel as comfortable as I did my last year in Portland. That’s when I shot the most in my career.”

Last season, Aldridge averaged 23.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2 assists. He only shot 29.3 percent from deep, but he's been better in years past. His career three-point shooting percentage is 28.8 percent. He shot 41 percent last season, which was a career high for him. His midrange shot is butter, but if he develops into a consistent long range threat, it'll open up the floor for the Spurs this year.

The Spurs will look very different this season. Tony Parker has joined the Charlotte Hornets, and Manu Ginobili has retired. They also acquired All-Star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan from the Toronto Raptors. With LaMarcus Aldridge drawing bigs out from under the basket with his shooting, the uber athletic DeRozan will be able to slash to the basket for high flying finishes.

Regardless of how the team plays this year, they'll always keep The Spurs Way in mind, passing up good shots for great shots.
