If it already wasn't a secret that Big Baller Brand fever has hit Lithuania hard in 2018, it surely has now. On Tuesday, 16-year-old BC Vytautas guard LeMelo Ball went off for 43 points and hit five straight shots from behind the arc in a 147-142 shootout victory over BC Dzukija at Prienai Arena.
Both LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball were major contributors on Tuesday in Vytautas' victory at the Big Baller Brand Challenge, as the duo combined to score 80 of their team's 147 total points. While LaMelo went off for a game-high 43 points, LiAngelo had 37 points and 10 rebounds en route to a double-double effort.
A video of LaMelo's fourth and fifth 3-pointers that he hit in a row, which was posted this afternoon to Twitter on the official Sports Illustrated account on Tuesday, can be viewed below in all of its glory. The majority of LaMelo's impressive scoring outburst came in the third quarter, as the former Chino Hills High School product hit five 3-pointers in a row and scored 23 points over just 10 minutes.
Whether you can't stand Big Baller Brand founder LaVar Ball and his three sons or love what they're doing, a 43-point outburst by a 16-year-old in any professional league is still something to write home about and deserves at least some recognition. The fans for Vytautas in Lithuania clearly love all the fun the Ball family brings to the table.
