Ideally for LaVar Ball, his youngest sons, LaMelo and LiAngelo, would be following the footsteps of their older brother, Lonzo by playing for the UCLA Bruins in college. However, that’s now out of the picture, as the Ball family’s relationship with the Bruins program is now strained, perhaps even irreparable.

Instead, LaMelo and LiAngelo will be taking their talents across the Atlantic, as they are expected to suit up for Lithuanian professional basketball team, Vytautas Prienai starting January. The brother’ U.S. fans can also wear Vytautas colors soon, as the ballclub has shipped jerseys to the States and will be ready for purchase next month, per Shams Charania of The Vertical.

The team has shipped approximately 500 game jerseys — half LaMelo jerseys and half LiAngelo ones — to an Amazon warehouse in the U.S. and is expected to ship more to deliver late in the first week of January, the team official said. For Vytautas, LaMelo and LiAngelo have provided the branding to create marketing deals in Lithuania and the U.S.

By playing professionally, LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball would forfeit any chances of playing college basketball. LiAngelo was on the Bruins’ roster at the start of the 2017-18 NCAA men’s basketball season but a shoplifting incident in China forced LaVar to make a drastic decision to take his sons’ talents to Europe. LaMelo, meanwhile, is a five-star high school prospect who is ranked seventh on the ESPN 100 list for the class of 2019.
