There has been nothing short of positive happenings all around Lakers land since the team hired head coach Luke Walton to steer the ship into the future.

The players all have a new-found enthusiasm and a developing appreciation for what the coaching staff is bringing.

D’Angelo Russell, in particular, had a rough season under Byron Scott last year, that's why he has made it a point to develop a relationship with Walton. Nick Young is also benefitting from the love and has found himself back in the rotation after hearing his name in trade rumors this summer.

Players are feeling the positive energy all the way down to the bench. Big man Tarik Black calls Walton a blessing from God after being stashed away last season.

Alysha Tsuji of USA Today spoke with Larry Nance Jr. to find out why the players love Walton and want to play for him.

On the other hand, Walton has had more than enough kind words for his players as well, and doesn’t mind going to battle for them just as much.

The Lakers seem to have struck gold after last season’s hectic campaign, which focused solely on Kobe Bryant’s retirement year.

Fans in Los Angeles now have plenty to be excited for from this point forward.
