Many fans were taken aback when news broke about the reported relationship between Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley and Scottie Pippen's ex-wife, Larsa, during the offseason.

Months later, Larsa finally broke her silence and defended her decision to date Beasley who was 22 years younger than her. She also reportedly claimed that the player was already separated from his former partner in Montana Yao even before she came into the picture.

“We had spoken about it. It wasn’t a secret. I know a lot of people that are married and exiting,” Pippen said via Daily Star UK.

“A lot of people are not happy in their situations and they don’t want to jump ship until they see someone they like.”

“You don’t want to just shake your kids up because you might never meet someone that you actually like.”

She further justified her innocence and insisted that she never meddled in Beasley's previous relationship.

“You’re in a state of living in the same place, but not really together. It had nothing to do with me, so I wasn’t thinking anything about it.”

“If you spent a minute Googling their situation, it wasn’t the ideal situation way before.”

Larsa Pippen, 46, already parted ways with her ex-husband in Scottie Pippen back in 2018. The two started their marriage back in 1997 and shared four children. Apart from Beasley's controversial relationship with Pippen, he was already involved in a handful of off-court issues as of late.

He was previously pressed with drug charges and felony threats of violence for pointing a rifle towards a family who pulled up with their SUV near his local neighborhood in Minnesota back in late October of 2020. After pleading guilty to the incident, Beasley is set to complete a 120-day sentence in jail following the 2020-21 season.

Despite his numerous involvements off the court, Malik Beasley is still managing to impress with the Timberwolves with his current averages of 20.7 points, 49 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 30 games played this season.
