Former Chicago Bulls forward Dennis Rodman has been the talk of the town of late due to how he was heavily featured in the most recent episodes of ESPN's “The Last Dance.” One of the most talked-about incidents involving the famed bad boy was his rather unusual Las Vegas vacation in the midst of  1997-98 season.

Former four-time All-Star guard Penny Hardaway has weighed in on this topic, and the 48-year-old admitted that he was pretty much left in disbelief when he learned about Rodman's antics.

“Dennis Rodman’s vacation that he took during the season that was supposed to be for 48 hours,” he said, via Jason Munz of comercial appeal. “You don’t even get a day (most of the time), but he gets 48 hours. And five days later, Michael Jordan has to come and get you from a hotel in Vegas. That’s absurd. And then, they were still winning. Crazy.”

In addition, Hardaway had a blunt response as to whether he's encountered a similar experience as Rodman's with a teammate.

“No. Never played with Dennis.”

We completely agree with Hardaway here. It was insane how Rodman was able to take a detour during a crucial stretch in Chicago's season, but it's even crazier that he was still able to contribute significantly to the team upon his return. As it turns out, the Bulls were probably right in sanctioning Rodman's mid-season vacation for him to be able to recharge his batteries, so to speak. After all, he came back rejuvenated and helped the Bulls to their second three-peat that season.

Based on Hardaway's comments above, taking a vacation in the middle of a grueling season just seems unfathomable to him. We have to say that we're probably on the same boat with Penny here.
