Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan's father was tragically murdered in June of 1993. It was a very traumatic experience for His Airness, who shockingly retired from the NBA before the 1993-94 season to play baseball.

On the latest installment of The Last Dance ESPN docu-series, Mike says the last conversation he and his dad had was about baseball:

“We were debating, me and him, about me playing baseball,” Michael Jordan revealed.

MJ played one year of Minor League baseball. He was never able to make it to the Major Leagues.

The basketball Hall of Famer returned to the Bulls in March of 1995, appearing in 17 games to close out the 1994-95 season. Unfortunately, Jordan and the Bulls lost to the Orlando Magic in the second round of the 1995 playoffs. Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway were just too much for Chicago to handle.

However, some believe that loss to the Magic pushed Jordan to new heights, as after that defeat, he trained harder than ever.
