If you've seen No. 2 draft pick Lonzo Ball play basketball, you would assume he must come from a family heavily involved in basketball (even their namesake is Ball if anyone else thinks that's a huge coincidence). As far as Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo Ball, they seem to show a basketball gene, but for father LaVar Ball, his college scouting report would say otherwise.

It turns out LaVar had a specific role during his time as a Washington State Cougar: to not score points. To further exemplify this, he put up averages of 2.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game during his 26 games there, and their 13-15 overall record did not look pretty. Fortunately for LaVar, he made his way to the NCAA Division II after one season as a Cougar, so the lackluster performances did not have to continue.

All we can hope is that Lonzo makes a powerful debut in his opening season as a Los Angeles Laker. LaVar has done his fair share of hyping him up, even claiming that he will lead the team to the 2017-18 playoffs.
