Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James sent out a tweet in response to the recent police shooting of 16-year-old black girl Ma'Khia Bryant in Columbus, Ohio. However, James has since deleted the post after a huge backlash from social networks and the media.
In his tweet, James posted a photo of the officer in question, Nicholas Reardon. In the caption, the Lakers star wrote “YOU'RE NEXT” with the hashtag #ACCOUNTABILITY, per WKYC Studios. This reaction came in the wake of Derek Chauvin's guilty verdict over the killing of George Floyd on Tuesday, after which LeBron also tweeted “Accountability.”

Following his tweet, LeBron James was hit with several criticisms. Many people questioned the reasoning behind his reaction, especially after reports claim that Reardon opened fire upon seeing an attempted stabbing.

Per CNN, bodycam footage of the incident shows Bryant holding a knife during an argument with another woman. The teenage girl was brought to the hospital after the incident on Tuesday, but she was pronounced dead later in the afternoon.
No further details have been revealed about the incident, but state investigators are said to be looking at the matter to determine if Reardon is wrong.
As for LeBron James, he is yet to make a follow up tweet or make a reaction after deleting his initial tweet on the incident.
