LeBron James practice what he preached and showed some accountability following the ramifications of his now-deleted tweet in response to the Ma’Khia Bryant shooting in Columbus, Ohio. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar admitted that anger clouded his judgement at a time of turmoil and apologized for letting emotions getting the better of him.

The four-time NBA champion received major flak when he posted a photo of the police officer who shot the 16-year-old African-American girl. Twitter users did not appreciate LeBron's threatening caption “YOU’RE NEXT” alongside the hashtag #ACCOUNTABILITY. The King eventually deleted the tweet following the backlash, which also came after more details about the incident surfaced.

LeBron James, of course, is never one to just shut up and dribble when it comes to matters of social injustice. He also tweeted “Accountability” on Tuesday following Derek Chauvin’s guilty verdict over the killing of George Floyd. LeBron probably got carried away after hearing another death of an African-American.

After all, this one hits close to home for James, who was born and raised in Akron, which is not too far from Columbus.

But by doing so, he neglected to get his facts straight first and get the whole picture before his tweet. As it turns out, according to reports, the victim figured in an attempted stabbing of another civilian before the police officer resorted to shooting her.

More information are expected to be revealed as authorities conduct their investigation. For now, LeBron James is only hoping for true justice to prevail.
