The Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers are entering a very important offseason for both franchises.

The Lakers have worked all season and now have enough room for two max contract players if they renounce the rights or opt not to re-sign Julius Randle. All signs point to Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James and Oklahoma City Thunder star Paul George as the two players they'll be targeting and are rumored to have a good chance at landing.

The Clippers have a very important NBA Draft to focus on before free agency even begins, as they own the 12th and 13th overall pick in next week's draft. In addition, they're rumored to be interested in trading up in the draft to acquire top level talent, and could also be in the market for a big free agent name depending on what happens with the player options of DeAndre Jordan and Austin Rivers.

ESPN's Dave McMenamin joined ESPN Los Angeles radio on Tuesday evening to discuss James' future, and he mentioned that LeBron will never be playing for the Clippers.

The Clippers were expected to have a shot at James due to their bringing in of The Logo Jerry West as a consultant as well as his reverence for head coach Doc Rivers, who just had his contract extended for another three years.

The Lakers, on the other hand, remain the favorites to land James this summer and there are even rumors circulating that his son could be attending Sierra Canyon High School next year. That school is about an hour away from James' Brentwood home and an hour and a half from Staples Center.
