The final 2018 NBA All-Star Game results are in and with none other than Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and Stephen Curry leading the way in votes for their respective conferences.

James led the Eastern Conference starters, followed by Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving, and Toronto Raptors swingman DeMar DeRozan.

Curry led the Western Conference starters, followed by fellow Warriors teammate Kevin Durant, Houston Rockets guard James Harden, and the New Orleans Pelicans frontcourt tandem of Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins.

James and Curry will now pick their own teammates from the pool of players selected for the game in a blacktop-like affair.

Following several weeks of voting, this time around, things will be a little different, as both of these players (the highest vote-getters from each conference).

The NBA ditched the classic East vs. West matchup prior to the start of the regular season, hoping to give the All-Star Game a fresh look, garner more viewers, and add the element of competitiveness that was so badly lacking from the game in recent years.

The scoring tally has been higher and higher every year, with the latest one in New Orleans becoming nothing more than an extension of the Slam Dunk Contest and the Three-Point Shootout for guys that are wearing the same uniform.

This 67th iteration of the mid-February classic will now feature a much more interesting twist to it, while some could argue that it has more than ever transformed into a popularity contest at the wake of dissatisfaction from some fans and experts.

Yet the NBA has been willing to roll the dice with these changes, hoping it revives the long-lost interest in this tradition of The Association.
