The Kansas City Chiefs have added even more talent to their already loaded offense with the addition of former Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets running back Le’Veon Bell. News of this signing broke Thursday evening and instantly analysts and pundits were asking and answering the question if it is a risk for the already-stacked Chiefs offense.

Bell may not still be the rusher that he once was for the Steelers, however. In 2019, Bell rushed for 789 yards, three touchdowns, and 3.2 yards per attempt for the Jets.

On the daily Locked On Chiefs podcastRyan Tracy and Chris Clark discussed his lack of production in New York and then transitioned the conversation to how much of a risk his signing could be for the Chiefs to return to the Super Bowl. The signing may not be as much of a sure thing as people think.

Tracy: You know, the bottom line for me is that this is a risk whether it pans out or not is going to depend on a number of variables including not only what goes on in the running back room but also in the locker room overall. He has a relationship with Chris Jones. We’ve seen that in the past. It is about his relationship with Andy Reid. If I have to put my faith in the two of them, I’m going to lean at about 51 percent that I’m okay with this than the reverse. We’re going to have to get into how this affects the play on the field and the room that he’s standing in.
