Hockey Hall of Fame goalie Martin Brodeur is in awe of the body of work that Tampa Bay Lightning netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy has done over the past few years that he's made quite a change in his own Mount Rushmore of Goalies. For Brodeur, Vasilevskiy has impressed him enough to replace Montreal Canadiens legend Carey Price from his list of four best goalies ever.

Via Greg Wyshynski of ESPN:

For years, Brodeur put Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens on a pedestal as the NHL's greatest modern day goaltender. Vasilevskiy changed that.”Since he's been on this run, it switched it for me,” Brodeur admitted.

There have been countless goalies in the rich history of the NHL, and if there's something that shouldn't be up for debate, it's that Vasilevskiy must be in the conversation as among the best in his position. Vasilevskiy has the rings, having won two Stanley Cup so far in his career, both with the Lightning. He's also taken home a Vezina Trophy back in 2019. In 365 games played, Vasilevskiy has racked up sensational career numbers of 2.50 GAA and .919 SV% — and those are just in the regular season. His legend just keeps on growing in large part because of his penchant for finding another gear when it's time for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Lightning have been lucky too many times in having Vasilevskiy in front of the net in many of their most important games in franchise history, and they will need him to be at his absolute best again as they now trail the Colorado Avalanche in the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals.
