The Detroit Lions immediately made a move within their coaching staff following the conclusion of another losing season, as they announced that offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn had been fired. Head coach Dan Campbell, who had hired Lynn before the season began, clearly wasn't pleased with the former head coach's performance in the coordinator's chair, as he had stripped Lynn of play-calling duties earlier in the year. After being fired by Campbell and the Lions, Lynn reacted with just nine words.

Via ESPN NFL reporter Josina Anderson, Anthony Lynn reacted to his exit from the Lions with a classy text, saying that the move was for the best. Lynn wished Dan Campbell well.

The Lions offense sputtered under the direction of Lynn, as they ranked 25th in the NFL in points per game and started off winless through their first nine contests.

Lynn was formerly the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, who he led to a 12-4 record and a playoff victory in his second season with the organization.

Although it's disappointing for Anthony Lynn to be fired by Dan Campbell and the Lions, it's an opportunity for the experienced NFL coach to perhaps find another chance as a play-caller- or even head coach- given the number of vacancies currently available around the league.
