The Detroit Lions originally selected defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Alabama. Now, Robinson's rookie contract is getting set to expire after the conclusion of the upcoming 2019-20 season while the veteran lineman does not seem to be too worried about such a situation.

That might actually be an understatement (via Dave Birkett in the Detroit Free Press):

“I ain’t worried about none of that [stuff],” Robinson recently said. “That [stuff] don’t matter to me right now. What matters is us trying to be the best team we can be so we can get to the playoffs and have a chance to win the Super Bowl.”

Remaining incredibly optimistic with the 2019-20 regular season now right around the corner, the Lions' Robinson is just grateful for the opportunity to play at the highest level.

“Going into my fourth year I think it’s a blessing,” Robinson added. “Not many people have this opportunity so I just take it as that and God gave me this ability so I got to take it and utilize it for these guys out here.”

After encountering a rocky first few seasons as a NFL defender, Robinson then strung together the best single-season effort of his professional career in 2018. He notably registered 49 total tackles over the course of 13 regular season games last season. He also made seven starts for the Lions before his season was prematurely ended due to a lingering knee injury.
