Detroit Lions fans are already at it. Two days after Lions defensive end Trey Flowers was flagged for an illegal-hands-to-the-face that shouldn't have been called (which the NFL admitted) but was, fans are putting up billboards. Specifically, fans are putting up billboards of a referee sporting a cheesehead.

According to Michael Rothstein of ESPN, the billboard will be displayed in seven different locations in Detroit over the span of a week.

The cheesehead referee billboard isn't the only one to be posted up in Detroit from a reaction to a call. Via Rothstein, “Courtney Richards, a spokesperson for Outfront Media, said this is from is the same group of anonymous Lions fans who leased billboards in 2015.”

Three billboards were posted up in 2015. First, there were seven that read “Blind to the bat,” which had a referee wearing sunglasses. It was a reaction from a call in which wide receiver Calvin Johnson fumbled the football out of the end zone from a punch-out by Seattle Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright. The Seahawks got possession.

There was the “SCRUHED!” billboard, which was posted after defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh left to Miami in free agency. They were right, he lasted three seasons in Miami, and cost the Dolphins a large part of their future cap space after his release. Then there was “Detroit Lyin',” with a referee making a signal for a pass interference call in response to an overturned call in the wild-card round against the Dallas Cowboys.
