Detroit Lions running back Bo Scarbrough has gone back to Alabama to finish up his degree so he can later pursue a career as an FBI agent. In 2018, Scarbrough left Alabama with one year of eligibility left and five more classes needed to finish up his degree.

Scarbrough admits that he feels a little old being back in class, even though he is only 23 years old:

“It’s like, I feel so old,” Scarbrough says, scanning the gray-and-white classroom via Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com.

Even though Scarbrough left early, Alabama academic advisor Molly Dowd has kept on him, reminding him it's important that he returns to school:

“We had a conversation about it before he left and sort of made a plan that we know you want to come back,” Dowd said. “Let’s just go feel it out.”

Bo Scarbrough said his dream of being an FBI agent started when he was 12 or 13 years old and saw the TV show “Forensic Files.” Each show is a half-hour mystery that needs to be solved, and Scarbrough's goal was to solve it before the show was over.

There was never a thought for Scarbrough to be a police officer, he has always wanted to work someplace like the FBI or Homeland Security:

“I like hands-on and like to be out in the field,” Scarbrough said. “I like to help people and I’m caring. I just figured that it would be the right thing for me. That it would be comfortable for me.”

Scarbrough hopes to have a long NFL career, but he is working towards the future now.
