The Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell addressed the media regarding Jared Goff's injury and the decision to to continue playing him during the 16-16 tie at Pittsburgh.

As Chris Burke of The Athletic noted, Campbell didn't think the injury was overly serious.

During the first quarter, Goff attempted a deep throw to wide receiver Kalif Raymond. On the throw, Goff strained his oblique. It was evident he was in pain and bothering him at different times during the game.

With the forecast coming into the game calling for plenty of rain, the Lions probably were already prepared for a run-heavy game script. Following the injury to Goff, that probably accelerated that game plan. Jared Goff struggled mightily Sunday, finishing 14-25 for 114 yards yard and no touchdowns. He was also sacked four times during the game.

After the game, Jared Goff talked about his performance and the injury, as detailed by Lions staff writer Tim Twentyman.

“I describe it as probably a strained oblique… Just kind of nagged me a little bit throughout the game. I thought I was fine to stay in there. I felt like it didn't affect me through the game. It'll be a little sore tomorrow, but I'll be fine… I kept talking to our trainers, talking to him, talking to (quarterbacks coach Mark) Brunell.”

Give credit to Goff for hanging in there despite taking a bit of a beating. The Steelers defense was swarming all game. Despite the offensive struggles, the Lions managed to end their losing streak at 12 games. The last time the Detroit Lions won a game was Week 13 last season vs the Chicago Bears.

With a tie under their best, they will look to improve and get a win next week at Cleveland.
