The Detroit Lions lost star running back D'Andre Swift to a shoulder injury early against the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving, and they proceeded to lose another game in horrific fashion to drop to 0-10-1 on the 2021 season. The good news is it seems Swift's shoulder injury isn't serious, with NFL Network's Ian Rapaport reporting that the running back is day-to-day.

Swift had three carries for zero yards and three catches for nine yards before leaving Thursday's game. Jamaal Williams got the bulk of the work with Swift out, rushing 15 times for 65 yards. Lions head coach Dan Campbell called Swift's injury a shoulder sprain after the game.

Detroit had a chance to get that elusive first win of the season against Chicago, going up 14-13 in the third quarter. However, the Lions gave up a long drive that spanned the final 8:30 to lose on a field goal as time expired. Some awful clock management only added to the embarrassment and helped the Bears run the clock all the way down to the end before the game-winner.

While Detroit has been a laughingstock this season, Swift has been a bright spot. He has rushed for 555 yards and four touchdowns on 140 carries this season, and he has done a lot of damage as a receiver with 56 catches for 429 yards and a pair of scores.

The Lions will try again to notch their first win in Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings. Swift will have a little longer to recover after playing on Thanksgiving, so Detroit is hoping he'll be able to suit up for the next game.
