The Detroit Lions traded safety Quandre Diggs along with a 2021 seventh-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a 2020 fifth-round pick, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

The Seahawks are currently dealing with injuries to starting safety Bradley McDougald and their main backup option in Lano Hill. Both safeties are sidelined after suffering injuries during the team's 30-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7. For reference, McDougald is dealing with a back injury while Hill has an elbow injury.

The current expectation is that Bradley could return for the Seahawks' matchup with the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8. Pete Carroll stated that he is ‘positive' for a potential return to the lineup for Bradley.

“We think so. We think so,” Carroll said, via Liz Mathews of SeahawksWire. “We’re very positive about the thought. He wasn’t quite able, today. But, he still has to do it. He still has to get well. He has back spasms, you know, and that didn’t really release the way that sometimes they do.”

“So, maybe over the weekend he will make a comeback for us.”

The injuries at the safety position caused the Seahawks to have to start rookie Marquise Blair for the first time in his NFL career. The team needs more depth at the safety position regardless and that's where Diggs factors into the equation.

Last season, Diggs started in each regular-season game for the Lions and recorded 64 tackles, three interceptions, and eight pass breakups. He agreed to a three-year, $18.6 million contract in September of 2018 with Detroit.
