The Detroit Lions had a forgettable 2021 campaign that looks likely to end as the NFL's second worst team record-wide. That in of itself is already a marked improvement after the team started 0-8 while staying winless in its first 11 contests until a closely fought win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13.

It's no surprise that changes are coming to the Lions. While head coach Dan Campbell may not be the one on the hot seat just yet, his offensive coordinator in Anthony Lynn is reportedly a casualty amid their tumultuous year, according to the latest report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

The Lions and OC Anthony Lynn are expected to part ways following today’s game, sources say. One of the more respected leaders as a HC, it was never a good fit as OC for Lynn in Detroit. He had play-calling duties stripped earlier, and now both sides appear set to walk away.

The midseason play-calling switch-up was probably a good indicator of his standing with the Lions franchise going forward. They went 2-5 after Dan Campbell made the move after starting off 0-8-1 in their first nine contests.

While the Lions' offense is far from their only problem, they ranked in the bottom half of most metrics, making a change far from surprising.
